About Amanda
The Community Alliance program based at the CSU Western Colorado Research Center integrates civic service with experiential learning in agriculture and food systems, life sciences, healthy eating, and social issues of food insecurity. Educational programming with K-12 students, post-secondary interns, and community members range from formal to informal, but our programs are unified under the goal of increasing an understanding of food production and reducing barriers to eating healthy food.
CSU students can gain hands-on experience in small scale vegetable and fruit cultivation, farm-to-school teaching with K-12 students, and community-based nutrition intervention programs co-created with community food pantries in our area.
