03/20/2019 - 06/21/2019
Location: On-campus, Within 10 Miles
Event/Activity Description
In our first visit, students learn about microbes (what they are, what size they are) and then are asked to hypothesize where microbes may live (or not live). Students don lab coats, are given sterile swabs and petri dishes contain microbe food. They then test different areas in their classroom to see where microbes live. In a followup visit, students are shown what the microbes look like, and given the opportunity to validate or falsify their hypothesis, as well as record their observations.
