Jimmy received his B.S. in applied sociology (2009) and M.A. in sociology (2011) from Texas State University. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he was attached to 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines. During his service, his unit deployed to various locations around the Pacific Rim and it was here that Jimmy discovered his passion for conservation and sustainability. After the military, Jimmy taught natural resource conservation for two years in Hawaii public education. Jimmy’s accumulated experiences ultimately led him to Colorado State University, where he is pursuing additional education in human dimensions of natural resources.
